In addition to my book, Notre Dame and the Civil War: Marching Onward to Victory (The History Press, 2010), I have a long-term goal of documenting Notre Dame's dozens of student-soldiers, including those who attended/graduated before the war, those who enrolled after the war as veterans, and - especially - those who answered the call by leaving school in the war's first years.
